Another successful show has come and gone! We packed up some of our animals and fleeces and headed up to Lloydminster October 14-16, 2011. It was the 10th Anniversary Show and it’s hard to believe we’ve been doing this for 7 years now! It was great to get together with all the other breeders and spend a weekend visiting and showing our animals. This year we came home with 6 ribbons - and very exciting, we won our first Grand Champion!

Briar Rose - Grand Champion Huacaya Brown Fleece

Rider - 1st Multi Yearling Male/2nd Huacaya Multi A Fleec

Sophia - 2nd Huacaya White B/Marco - 4th Huacaya White B

Soul Seeker - 4th Huacaya White C

Thank You to everyone who came out and supported our second annual Open House. The weather was beautiful outside and everyone, including ourselves, had a lot of fun. We love introducing people to the alpacas and the beautiful products that can be made from their fiber.
If you weren’t able to make it to our open house but would still like to come and meet our alpacas or check out our fiber products or if you have questions about alpacas give us a call or send us an e-mail and we would be happy to set up a time for you to come and check out our farm and answer all your questions.

This morning a new female alpaca arrived at our farm that we will be boarding for another breeder until spring. It is our first alpaca that we have boarded and are looking forward to seeing how it goes. All the females were very curious when Bell showed up – not to mention the males! We think she will fit in well with our females.
Welcome to the farm Bell!

It took 4 days and 8 people but we are happy to announce that we have wrapped up shearing for another year! This year we sheared 35 alpacas, 34 of our own and 1 from a local farm school. Over the 4 days there were 4 show fleeces, 105 needles, 140 sets of toenails, 10 sets of fighting teeth to grind down and 14 sets of front teeth to trim! Everything went smoothly over the 4 days and everyone, including the animals survived! Again this year Jennie sheared the animals, Sarah sorted the fibre and everyone else helped out where they could!
The day after being sheared Eclipse and Pandor left our farm, as they were purchased by someone in Southern Saskatchewan.
